My Little Dancer... and SINGER!!

Aww, look at my lil helper!
I have been teaching Maletch to "sing into a hair brush" (like a microphone), which he thinks is HILARIOUS! And he sings, "oooh, oooh" (while dancing) and then he giggles, it's so cute! I don't have any photos or video YET, but I will work on it!

Maletch's First Time Swimming!!!

We took Maletch swimming for the 1st time today and he just LOVED it!! He was surprisingly over-eager to jump in without his floaties on OR us! His eyes lit up as soon as he saw the pool and everyone playing in it and he went running straight for it! John had a very hard time holding him still long enough to get his floaties on, cuz he was squirming to get to the pool! I walked him right into the water and he was giggling and in awe watching the bigger kids do cannonballs all around us!
I think he thought we were all in a "big bath tub" together! We all swam around and he splashed like crazy. I was surprised how many times his head went under, or he inhaled some water and he just kept on playing- it never bothered him, even through heavy coughing at times, he was still smiling and laughing! John and I were especially shocked when his head was completely submersed, John said, "He just dunked himself" and when we pulled him up, we were sure, he would be scared and cry a little... NOPE.. he laughed.. this boy has NO fear!
This is something that we will be doing more often, maybe even everyday for a little bit, since he loved it so much! I thought I might need daddy to help me coerce him to liking it and helping in general- but he didn't seem to need us at all! Haha! So I will probably take him while daddy is at work a lot!

He loved his "alligator" kick board a TON and he was trying to ride it like a SURF board (trying to STAND on it), which was way funny and cute, cuz he had a BLAST on it! I have a LOAD of pool toys and float things for him, and I think he will probably like a few others better than the arm floaties, so we will have fun trying them all out. (I have a vest, an inner tube, another kick board, and probably others ready for our next pool adventure).

When it was time to get out of the water, because it was too cold, he REFUSED! He kept running back and getting upset when we grabbed him, he was NOT ready to leave, but the poor baby was shivering in the water, so we needed to get him home!
On our way back home, we walked passed a balloon tied to a parking post, and Maletch pulled daddy (walking holding hands) over to it, saying "bawoon" then he tried to CLIMB the post to get it down. We were holding back laughter watching him try to get it.

Oh and yes, just like in the previous post, you should notice that our swimsuits even color coordinate- yep planned, haha! Yep, I'm a dork alright!!
Below is a slideshow with tons of pics. **Sorry this Slideshow is 'down' for a little while. There is an error in the software that I need to correct. I will have it working soon!

Our Day in Los Angeles!

We went to Los Angeles for a Dr.'s appt. of mine, and since it was an all day event we tried to make it fun. We took lots of photos and had a fun family day. Maletch really enjoyed himself and the sights.

I really love this shot, I love the shy expression on his face and the way he is clutching daddy's pants! Maletch is RARELY shy, but he seemed uncomfortable with the lady taking our picture that time, the more she tried to get his attention, the more he clutched daddy and tried to 'hide'.

Hey, what do you know, a rare family shot! We are all looking in the same direction and we are all SMILING!! OK that NEVER happens! Funny how with just 3 of us, at least one of us is always either: looking away, blinking, or is not smiling, I should do a post of just the family shots that didn't work- I just saw a series of our photos that were pretty funny!
I also like it when we all color coordinate, haha I'm a dork! OK- no I don't like dressing "match-y match" like twins- just color coordinated like this. I always dress Maletch in something that "goes with" what I wear, since we always go out together, but hey matching three of us without looking like twins- I thought I did pretty good, whachya think???
Now you will probably notice our outfits more in our pics, LOL... like below in the 4th of July slideshow, that is how I like us to dress- we compliment (eclectically) but not to look like I tried to do it, LOL! Told ya I am a dork!

4th of July Fun!!

Aaaah... Summer is finally here!! WAHOO! I LOVE summer and I LOVE the fourth of July!! This year, we bought tickets to the show at University of Redlands (U of R). They put on a remarkable show that lasts for hours!
It started off with bands playing and lots of singing and dancing which of course Maletch just LOVED and then of course it ended with a fireworks display. Thousands of people that didn't buy tickets gathered nearby to watch the fireworks part of the show for free. But only with the tickets could we go inside the stadium and see it all!
We chose to sit on the field with our blankets, ice chest, and all of our supplies, but "the stands" were available for people that chose them as well. Most people on the field had their own chairs, but not us, because that was more to carry!
One thing we missed due to parking delays was a "fly over" by the Air Force with the C-17 (which is the plane that John works on). We were a little disappointed about that, but we still had a great time.
While we were walking around Maletch spotted (pointed out) every balloon "boon" in the crowd and he walked up to a group of people that had a balloon tied to a stroller, and he tried to TAKE it!! When I pulled him away he got upset and started yelling "BOON!", "BOON!" Poor baby wanted a balloon! So we walked around with the mission to figure out who was selling balloons- with as much stuff as they had, nobody was selling balloons. So we had to wait until after the show to take him to the store to get him one.
John and I were worried Maletch might be scared of the fireworks since they are so loud and we were so close to the stage- NOPE! As soon as they started he got so excited, his face lit up and he said, "WOW!" The noise didn't bother him at all and he just LOVED the fireworks! He stood in excitement at first and then decided to get comfy and lie down so he could look up facing the bright lights.
Also to our surprise, in such an enormous crowd (the place was PACKED)- Maletch was so happy and comfortable. John and I were worried about the crowd, in keeping him from running off and getting lost or kidnapped- so we kept a really tight hold of him, which he didn't seem to mind! My favorite part of the show was watching my son's face, while he watched everything, it was spectacular and I can still remember each of his expressions and I hope I never forget that wonder in his eyes- it was magical!
We all really enjoyed the music they played during the show. At times they played disco (which I can't stand) but Maletch really liked it and danced to it- so that made it tolerable for me. But during the fireworks they played a lot of patriotic songs that were very touching and beautiful and of course we rocked out to "Born in the USA" by Bruce Springsteen (I love that song!) and "God Bless the USA" and many other favs!
And yes, you will see in the slideshow, that in the end Maletch got his balloon, actually he got 4, including a cool flag shaped one! Hey, mommy never breaks a promise! Maletch got to stay up extra late that night, about 4-5 hours past his bedtime! We thought he would fall asleep at some point but he didn't want to miss anything!
Gosh, we have so many good pics from that night! I threw a few in the slideshow below, but I may have to add to it later.
